Each peg doll is just over 3 inches tall. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Tulkarm doll is inspired by the thobe historically worn in the city of Tulkarm and the surrounding villages. It features simple embroidery and was often worn with a belt, headscarf, and an overcoat made out of Syrian silk or velvet (usually only worn in the winter or for special occasions).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Jenin doll is inspired by the thobe historically worn in Jenin and some of the villages northeast of the city of Tulkarm. Commonly referred to as the \"shaq\" thobe due to the front opening in the overdress. Underneath, a shift dress was worn, which might by lightly embroidered. Unlike most of Palestine, the dresses in Jenin were not usually adorned with cross-stitch.
