Botanically Dyed

Before the introduction of commercial embroidery thread from Europe, Palestinians used to spin and dye their own thread using silk fibers from Syria and Lebanon and natural dyes readily available to them, such as madder root, indigo, and pomegranate rinds. A small but growing community of natural dyers from Bilad al Sham and its diaspora are working to revive this all but extinct tradition. This is just one piece of the puzzle.

Upcycled & Thrifted

As a textile artist and crafter, I am acutely aware of the effects of the fast fashion industry and textile waste, and I am continuously learning along the way. I make a point to use pre-loved and recycled materials whenever possible. I frequent local estate sales and thrift stores in search of embroidery and art supplies, and clothing and household items that can be upcycled and given a new life with natural dyes and tatreez.

Thoughtfully Designed

A lot of care and intention goes into crafting each piece. I seek to create and curate practical but beautiful products that I would (and do) use myself. My goal is to bring you unique tatreez supplies, handmade goods, upcycled pieces, and purposeful art that brings you joy and adds a little bit of color to your life. I am inspired by my heritage as a mixed Palestinian living in diaspora, my faith as a practicing Muslim, and the beauty of the mundane.
